Custom Window Treatments for Kent Homes
Compare materials in your own rooms before you decide
Window Fashions Northwest helps Kent homeowners choose custom blinds, shades, drapery, shutters, and motorized treatments around privacy, daylight, glare, and the way each room is used. We bring samples directly to your home so the decision happens in the space where the treatment will actually be installed.
Privacy Is Usually More Complicated Than Open or Closed
A room can need privacy without needing to feel shut down all day. That is the balancing act on a lot of Kent projects. You may want to stop a direct sightline from outside, cut afternoon glare, and still keep enough daylight that the room does not feel like a cave.
That is where the exact material matters. A light-filtering shade, a tighter roller fabric, a blind with adjustable slats, and a lined Roman shade may all cover the same window, but they change the room in very different ways.
Nighttime deserves its own conversation too. Once the lights are on inside, a material that felt private during the day may not be private at all. If evening coverage matters, we look at that before you commit to something chosen mainly for its daytime appearance.
For larger groups of windows, operation can become the bigger issue. Several shades across one wall are much easier to live with when they move together. That is one of the places where motorization can feel less like a luxury and more like the sensible way to use the room.
The fit still comes down to the opening. Trim, handles, window depth, furniture, and nearby walls can decide whether the treatment belongs inside the frame, outside it, or paired with something else.
Privacy is easiest to judge at the window itself. We can look at the sightline, the daylight, and what happens when the room is lit from inside, then choose a material that gives you the coverage you actually need.
