Kimberly has lived in Washington her entire life and loves the Pacific Northwest. She currently lives in Tacoma with her family. She has over 25 years of window treatment industry experience.

Her window treatment career began with a customer service specialist position with a large window treatment manufacturer. As her passion for window treatments and design grew, she decided to study interior design at Bellevue College. She added to her experience with window treatments and custom draperies while working for a retail window treatment company as an in-home design consultant. Over the years she continued to work in this industry for both wholesale and retail companies.

About Us

Window Treatments Chosen in Your Home

Window Fashions Northwest provides in-home window treatment consultations, measuring, product selection, and installation across Pierce, Kitsap, South King, and Thurston counties.

The consultation starts with the windows and the rooms around them. We look at privacy, glare, room darkening, reachability, mounting space, finishes, and how often each treatment will be opened or adjusted.

From there, Kimberly narrows the options to products that fit the practical needs of the room and the budget instead of asking you to sort through every treatment in the catalog.

When you purchase from Window Fashions Northwest you are supporting a small business in our local community.

Why the Consultation Happens in Your Home

Window treatments are difficult to choose well when the room is missing from the decision. A sample can look one way under showroom lighting and completely different beside your flooring, paint, trim, furniture, and natural light.

Kimberly brings the samples to you for exactly that reason. She can look at the opening, watch what the light is doing, see how the room is used, and narrow the choices there instead of asking you to imagine everything from a showroom.

The light is part of the decision

A window that feels comfortable in the morning may produce strong glare later in the day. A material that seems private in daylight may become more transparent after dark when the interior lights are on. Looking at the real exposure makes it easier to choose the right opacity, slat control, lining, or layering.

The room has a job to do

Bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, home offices, nurseries, and dining spaces do not need the same thing from a window treatment. Privacy, room darkening, outside views, ease of cleaning, insulation, glare, and frequency of operation all matter differently from room to room.

Those practical needs come first. The product comes after.

The window itself matters

Window depth, trim, handles, cranks, nearby walls, furniture placement, and the amount of glass you want exposed can all change the best mounting approach. A product can be beautiful on paper and still be wrong for the opening if those details are ignored.

The house does not have to use one product

A whole home can feel coordinated without putting the same blind or shade in every room. Different spaces may call for different treatments while still sharing related colors, textures, proportions, or operating styles.

That makes it possible to solve each room properly without turning the house into a collection of unrelated decisions.

You can work in stages

Not every project has to cover every window at once. Many homeowners start with bedrooms, the main living area, street-facing windows, or the rooms with the strongest glare and privacy problems.

A larger plan can still be kept in mind so future rooms can be added without making the finished home feel mismatched.

The process continues through installation

Once the direction is narrowed, the windows are measured for the selected treatment and the details are finalized for ordering. Professional installation completes the project so the treatments fit correctly, clear the surrounding window conditions, and operate the way they should.

When the job is finished, the treatment should look like it belongs there and be easy to live with every day.
